Hi all.
It has been a while since we last spoke so I thought I would drop you a line to let you know what Blue Mountain “BushCraft” has been up to.
We ran a “Poachers Way” course for students who already have some basic Bushcraft Skills, over the weekend 22 May 09.
After a brief refresher, Mark, John, and Chris, three of our instructors took our students through some of the more advanced Bushcraft and Survival techniques backed by years of experience within both the Bushcraft and military worlds. Apparently the fresh trout was “Very Good”, but then again it always does out of doors.
“A wonderful experience, Very informative, Mark and all his staff worked exceptionally hard.”
- H from Gloucester
Our Prize winners from the Outdoorshow held at NEC enjoyed their “One day” Bushcraft Course” on 30th May. The weather was glorious and the mix of four adults and 3 youngsters seemed to get on really well. The day started at about 9 a.m. where the winners met at TT Adventures for a quick cuppa then off to our area just outside Betws-y-Coed, North Wales. A packed day followed briefings over bannock bread and tea.
The rifle range proved popular with young and old alike, and the youngsters giving the “older clients” a run for their money, and Zoe’s Woodland Glockenspiel was a big hit with everyone J
“George, (11 years old), was keen to experience this on his own. He retuned home very tired but absolutely buzzing from the experience. Thank you and your instructors for giving George a safe, exciting, and fulfilling experience” – Mr H and Mrs L Smith Warwickshire I personally would like to thank everyone that came to join us on both courses; we at Blue Mountain had a great time and enjoyed the experiences as much as those that attended the course.Over the next month the Bushcraft Division is taking massive steps again.
We are about to launch a new website. Those on Poachers would have seen the graphic designers shadowing the course. This will make it easier for you to find out what’s going on, and with the proposed forum and Blue Mountain members club, can swap hints and ideas within the Survival and Bushcraft world.
We are also pleased to announce that we are able to offer a new course for those who are thinking of trying Survival and Bushcraft for the first time, or for outdoor enthusiasts, climbers, kayakers, walkers etc, who would like a little bit of additional knowledge to build on their repertoire. The course is designed to take you through the proper use of the survival tin and touches on the “what if” scenario. Designed for groups or families of 5 or more, it lasts for about 3 hours and costs £25 per person (an extra £15 for a survival tin for you to keep). The course can be run in almost any location so why not see what it’s all about.
We are also pleased to announce that we will have a link with Trespass and will soon be able to offer our members discounts on kit and equipment. Those who attend our courses will automatically become members and will be entitled to this as well as special weekends and other great offers. More to come!
For those who are beginners, have tried a little or want to brush up on their skills, Blue Mountain is pleased to confirm that we have an Apprenticeship course 3rd – 5th July 09 (Fri night
to Sun afternoon) in Wales, Cost is £235 per person with special rates for children, families and groups. Learn the skills and enjoy them over the summer.
